Steve Tewksbury, CMP William & Mary Executive Director of University Events
Steve has over 25 years of event execution and planning experience. He stepped into the meetings industry as an AV technician with VAE, then spent 10 years at the Kingsmill Resort working up from AV tech, to Set-Up Supervisor, to Business Operations Analyst to CSM. Working in various roles at William & Mary for nearly 14 years, he currently serves the President’s Office as the Executive Director of University Events. Steve earned his CMP in 2002.

In a 20 year career in the luxury hospitality and domestic and international meeting planning industries, Daniela has worked for several global four and five star hotel brands in management roles.  In addition, she also managed an international corporate event planning firm based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and worked throughout South America executing high level corporate events for C-suite executives and top embassy officials.  

Joni Johnson, CTP, TMP, National Sales Manager, Domestic Sales
Virginia Tourism Corp.

Joni is the national sales manager at the Virginia Tourism Corporation.  Joni promotes Virginia as a premier destination for meetings, conventions and sporting events.    She has the pleasure of working closely with Virginia destination marketing organizations, hotel representatives and tourism industry professionals to leverage funds for outreach, tradeshow and marketing initiatives.

Robin D. Roane, CTE, HMCC, CMP, Senior Sales Manager
Alexandria Convention & Visitors Association

Robin joined Visit Alexandria as Senior Sales Manager in April 2010 with a diverse background in hotel sales and association management. Robin held the position of Membership Director for the Global Business Travel Association bringing her to Alexandria in 2006.  Prior to her time with GBTA, for 18 years she was an associate of Marriott International, Inc., where she held various positions from Director of Catering & Convention Services to Director of Hotel Sales primarily under the Renaissance brand with the last being Senior Account Executive for Texas Market Sales representing multiple properties to include seven different Marriott brands.


Parking:

Self-Parking Lot @ $2/hour, located on Grace Street between Jefferson and Adams Street. On street parking is free after 4:00pm.
Valet - $5.00 per vehicle (discounted from $8.00, but Valet is limited and may fill up!)

 


MPI Virginia Chapter Attendance Policy

All Essential Level members or non-members are limited to no more than two events in one fiscal year and must pay the Essential Level/Non-member rate. MPI Preferred or Premier Level members are welcome to attend all chapter events at the Member Price.
Event Cancellations must be submitted in writing to: Cee Rivas, MPI Virginia Chapter Administrator

Cancellation penalties do apply:

Cancellation penalties outside 30 days from event date: $10
Cancellations within 30 days from event date: $25
Cancellations within 3 days of event date: No Refund

*No-Shows are responsible for full payment
