MPI – VA Chapter Member Profile - Elizabeth Buhl

Name: Elizabeth Buhl
Organization: Sweet Serendipities Events & Design, LLC
Title: Owner & Planner

Best thing about job: I am fairly new the meetings and events industry and I just love that it is an industry full of opportunity and new learning experiences, two things I thrive for in both my professional and personal lives. I love the fast-paced environment and that every day is a new day filled with new mistakes to make and chances to grow. I adore the professional relationships I have already made and am looking forward to the new ones to come.

Volunteer positions: MPI-related: served on communications committee last year as social media chair; now serving on membership committee helping with the recruitment of new members. Other organizations I volunteer with: Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce, Thurman-Brisben Homeless Shelter

Event horror story: I recently planned a wedding on the beach where I left the ceremony to go deliver the cake to the reception and, while I was gone, the ring bearer dropped both rings in the sand and the groomsmen had to dig them both out. Bright side – the rings were found and had a little mineral polish in the process!

Hobbies: I work a lot, so I take advantage of any chance I get for a little bit of free time. I normally spend it going on new adventures and exploring new places with my boyfriend or my mom, or hanging out with family and friends.

Husband/Wife/Kids/Pets: My long-term boyfriend Michael and I live in Fredericksburg, and have a bulldog-terrier named Buster. My Brother just had a baby and I am a very proud Auntie!

Pet Peeve: I can’t stand when people belittle or bully others for their own benefit in the workplace. Especially when females bully or belittle other females– come on girls, let’s stick together!
